I'd agree that FuckPig are the best, and also I'd certainly go to a FuckPig concert if I were angrier. I might even want to own a FuckPig CD just out of curiosity if they even existed.

Nice work, as always. The Fuckpig posters are the best. I would totally go to a Fuckpig concert if I were an angrier person than I am.

It depends. If you soak the paper in water and then immediately microwave it, it does something. And I do think the distressing of the type did something. You can't see a lot of it the smaller text in the posters here (unless you enlarged them by clicking on them), but there're some ripples and fades in the text.

I like the single slash, because it doesn't follow that blasted rule of threes. Composition is best on #2, but maybe lose some of the lines and squares? Text overlapping image on #2 is good—I like your blending mode, and it provides an engaging sort of tension. Probably also do something else with the "A film by" text block—putting it in the hole is a fun idea, but not very good in execution, partially because of the ultra-light line weight, and partially because it creates a center-weighted composition-within-a-composition.

I like the background color on #1, primarily because it allows you to put the screening time/location in white instead of black, which breaks up and categorizes the information, making it less of a visual assault. The two-toned cake on #1 is also a nice touch.

Also: not to rain on your process or anything, but would the finished typeface have been any different at all if you had just skipped all the distressing and scanned it directly? Because for one thing, I don't think microwaving paper does anything… does it?

See? I still remember the one design class I took in college!

Really cool posters—my favorite is Lamplight Breakfast. A real shame that you're not getting a retrospective. Time to go rogue!

Vvinni, this is great. I think it works because it is very "you" even though this is a political film.

I guess when I say "you" I mean you didn't compromise your sense of style or humor for your movie's message. Which is important. It seems like a logical step forward from the Cold War movie you showed me a while back in the CSF days.

I love the Kitstory lessons. It's good to see Kit again even if he is just on screen.

So, funny story about the sound... I didn't actually record it until a couple days ago. I did the narration first, I was sort of trying to emulate the voiceover from Alphaville. Then I did the voice for Forehead, which was mostly just a matter of running it through a really aggressive filter on my H4n that was actually designed as a distortion pedal for guitar. When I went to dub myself, the problem was that my own voice was all over the thing already, so I made my dad do my part. So picture me standing in the kitchen, wearing headphones and pointing a sound recorder that looks like a taser at my dad, making him shout "Forehead!" over and over and over.

End of story.
